SUBJECT: Buoyancy Sticks

Buoyancy Sticks...

Let me say outright... A Buoyancy stick is NOT a replacement for Good Buoyancy and your practise for Good Buoyancy...

When you travel, you may occassionally come across the No Glove Rule and Buoyancy Sticks are encouraged...

This is where the Dive Operator will not allow you to where gloves and the compromise is to cut off the fingers from the gloves or use a Buoyancy Stick.. which you will supply or buy/hire from the operator.

I have attempted to use a Buoyancy Stick, and I can tell you its not cracked up to be and will not improve your buoyancy.

Try it for yourself... at Clifton Gardens and you will see even though the Stick may be a foot long... It will disappear into the sand... So much for that and you are back where you have started. And dont even think a stick will help you in a current...

My recommendation is work on your buoyancy, get your weight to the optinum... learn to control your breathing and use yourr breath to control your buoyancy... and above all Relax

If you are wondering what I am talking about... Talk to the boys about a Buoyancy Course
